About Deathbed
Deathbed is an independent publication and newsletter of original, short horror stories by comedy writers launched in September 2025 by Ritch Duncan. Boo!
It is not intended for children. Some of the stories will be spooky and funny, some will be scary and gross. Here is our ultra-scientific method of knowing what you are in for. If you are wondering what business comedy writers have writing horror stories, it is explained in the post Deathbed, An Introduction. Your free subscription gives you access to this website as well as a weekly email with the latest stories.
Deathbed is powered by Ghost, a platform we chose in part because it sounded spooky. Other perks include the fact that Ghost is an open-source, writer-friendly newsletter and publishing medium that allows us to grow slowly, retain our own audience, and do so without sharing a platform with Nazis.
We prefer to keep company with fictional horrors.
